Job Description

Orchid HR Outsourcing is one of the leading HR Outsourcing Companies in Kenya. Our Client is seeking an Accountant / Finance Officer to manage payroll, statutory compliance, and financial administration, ensuring workers are paid accurately and on time and all statutory obligations are met.
  • Position: Accountant
  • Location: Mombasa
  • Reports To: Managing Director / Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Process monthly payroll for warehouse staff across Mombasa, Nairobi and Eldoret, including base pay, overtime and statutory deductions.
  • Calculate and process PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, Affordable Housing Levy and NITA levy in line with current statutory rates.
  • Prepare and submit monthly client invoices with accurate payroll and attendance details.
  • File statutory returns and remit contributions within the required deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate payroll registers, payslips, ledgers and attendance records.
  • Reconcile attendance, invoiced hours and payroll records to prevent discrepancies.
  • Process timely worker payments and issue payslips.
  • Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, petty cash and supplier payments.
  • Support HR with payroll-related worker queries and ensure confidentiality of payroll data.
  • Prepare financial information for KPI reporting and performance reviews.
  • Keep up to date with changes in Kenyan payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum CPA Part II or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in payroll and finance administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan statutory payroll requirements including NSSF, SHIF, Housing Levy, NITA, PAYE and WIBA.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel and payroll/accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity and ability to handle confidential payroll information.
