Job Summary

• Mnarani Beach Club is seeking an experienced and qualified Head of Department (HOD) – Safety and Security to oversee the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing security operations, preventing and investigating crime, supervising security teams, and ensuring effective emergency preparedness across the property.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property.
• Implement crime prevention measures and conduct investigations where necessary.
• Manage security systems and procedures, including security patrols, surveillance systems, restricted areas, access control, and master key monitoring.
• Establish, implement, and maintain security measures throughout the property.
• Train staff on emergency procedures and response protocols.
• Chair Health and Safety structures and meetings.
• Chair firefighting structures and coordinate fire safety preparedness.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure security measures are effective across the property.
• Hold regular security meetings and liaise with local policing structures.
• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the security team, including in-house security staff, outsourced teams, and rapid response teams.
• Keep up to date with security trends, developments, and best practices.
• Participate in monthly stock control activities and manage fuel purchasing and distribution across the property.
• Attend scheduled resort Heads of Department (HOD) and Operations meetings and provide updates on security matters.

Candidate Requirements

• Interested candidates must meet the following requirements:
• A minimum of five years of experience in senior security management, preferably within the hospitality or hospital environment.
• Possession of the necessary regulatory certificates and qualifications relevant to the security industry in Kenya. The company reserves the right to verify these documents.
• Willingness to undergo security vetting.
• Must be a Kenyan citizen.
• Candidates based in Kilifi or the surrounding areas are preferred, as this is a live-out position.
• Must have no criminal record.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
• Must provide traceable and contactable references from previous positions.

Start Date

• The successful candidate should be available to start as soon as possible to ensure an effective handover with the incumbent, who is retiring.
