Job Description

The Central Bank of Kenya is the country’s apex financial institution responsible for maintaining price stability, regulating the banking sector, and supporting Kenya’s economic growth through sound monetary and financial policies. The Bank is seeking to recruit a Manager, Banking Unit – Branch/Centre Services to oversee banking operations, customer service, financial market functions, reconciliations, risk management, and government banking services at the branch level.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage banking operations including teller services, account management, clearing operations, transfers, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee customer service, handling queries, complaints, and DhowCSD support.
  • Approve account opening/closure, mandates, internet banking applications, and fund transfers.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, audit recommendations, and internal controls.
  • Supervise document management, records filing, and disposal processes.
  • Coordinate MPC surveys and liaise with financial institutions and government entities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and performance management to staff.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Banking, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Master’s degree and professional certifications in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management are an added advantage.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in banking operations or financial services, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
