1. Network Engineer

• eStream is seeking a skilled Network Engineer with experience in fibre-optic installations, structured cabling, network infrastructure deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will ensure projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, splice, terminate, test, and commission fibre-optic networks.
• Use OTDRs, optical power meters, and other testing equipment to identify and resolve faults.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Implement VLANs, IP addressing, routing, switching, and network segmentation.
• Conduct site surveys, supervise installations, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Prepare network diagrams, test reports, technical documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Provide technical support, maintenance, and client handover training where required.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Networks, IT, or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in network engineering, telecommunications, or infrastructure deployment.
• Practical experience in fibre-optic installation, splicing, testing, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, and structured cabling.
• Experience with Cisco, MikroTik, Huawei, Ubiquiti, HPE/Aruba, or equivalent networking equipment.
• Ability to interpret network diagrams and technical specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel within Kenya and work at project sites.

Professional Certifications

• At least one relevant industry certification is required. Examples include:
• Cisco CCNA or higher
• MikroTik MTCNA or higher
• HPE Aruba Networking certifications
• Huawei HCIA-Datacom or equivalent
• CompTIA Network+
