Job Description
Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), in partnership with Ghent University (Belgium), is recruiting a qualified and motivated Project Manager for the Afya Moja Project: One Health for the Kenyan Coastal Communities.

Position Overview
- Role: Project Manager
- Contract: 5 years
- Reports to: Project Coordinator / Registrar PRI
- Location: Technical University of Mombasa
- Appointment: Through the IUC partner institution (TUM)
- Gross Salary KES 200,000 per month
- Gratuity 31% of monthly basic salary (over contract period)
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Project Support Unit (PSU).
- Manage preparation, monitoring, and reporting of project budgets and financial statements.
- Ensure accurate financial reconciliation, transparent procurement processes, and proper documentation.
- Support audits and risk assessment activities.
- Provide methodological and technical support to project leaders.
- Organize and participate in Joint Steering Committee meetings.
- Support preparation of proposals, work plans, and reports.
- Facilitate scholar mobility to Belgium and other international destinations.
Minimum Professional Requirements
- Education: Master’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Health, Environmental Management, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years managing grants, budgets, and finances—especially for EU-funded projects.
- Certification: Professional Project Management certification (PMP®, PRINCE2®).
- Added Advantage: CPA, ACCA, or other Accounting/Finance qualifications.
- Skills: Strong leadership, coordination abilities, excellent communication, and experience working with international partners.
