Job Description

Next Step Foundation is a non-profit that transforms lives by leveraging the power of technology to upskill Persons with Disabilities, women and youth from marginalized and underserved communities to be empowered to participate in the digital economy. To scale our impact across five (5) regional hubs, we are seeking a highly motivated and inclusive Regional Coordinator(s) to lead program implementation within the regions. Reporting to the NSF Project Manager, the Regional Coordinator (s) will serve as the lead NSF representative within the region and will oversee county-level planning, coordination, implementation, and reporting of all NSF-related activities. The role involves strong community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, Project reporting, and hands-on coordination of youth skilling, digital learning, and Readiness initiatives. This role requires a highly organized, inclusive and proactive professional(s) committed to empowering youth with disabilities, especially young women, to access decent, fulfilling economic opportunities. 
LOCATIONS: Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru, Embu and Kilifi

Key ResponsibilitiesStakeholder Engagement
  • Foster partnerships with County government departments, TVETs, OPDs, youth groups, women-led organizations, employer associations, and private sector actors.
  • Represent NSF in county-level consortium meetings and stakeholder forums.
  • Strengthen relationships with trained participants, including areas of placement.
Mobilization & Recruitment
  • Identify, mobilize and enroll youth with disabilities adhering to 80% coverage of young women and 20% young men with disabilities.
  • Work with OPDs, caregivers, youth groups, chiefs, women-led groups, community structures and county leadership to reach marginalized youth with disabilities.
  • Facilitate reasonable accommodation, including assistive devices, peer support, communication support, or childcare services as needed.
Program Implementation & Coordination
  • Support the rollout of NSF’s Technical skilling and employability Skilling activities in the assigned Region.
  • Coordinate delivery of digital skills, technical training, core skills, and job-readiness programs.
  • Work with TVETs, CBOs, trainers, and partners to ensure inclusive, accessible learning environments.
  • Monitor learner attendance, retention, performance, and certification.
  • Timely identification, documentation, and mitigation of program risks.
Safeguarding, Gender & Inclusion
  • Ensure all activities to integrate disability, youth, gender inclusion, and safeguarding principles.
  • Implement safe programming protocols and ensure timely reporting of safeguarding concerns.
  • Report and address any safeguarding concerns in line with NSF protocols.
Reporting, Data & Learning
  • Collect, verify and report accurate and timely program data including training, mobilization, placements, and follow-up.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports highlighting progress, challenges, and success stories.
  • Support the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning teams during evaluations, assessments, and monitoring visits.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • Youths with disabilities mobilized and enrolled in NSF skilling programs.
  • 100% retention and completion rate for all program participants.
  • 100% tracking and closure of safeguarding issues.
  • Timely and error-free reporting.
  • Partnerships with regional stakeholders.
  • Evidence of inclusive, gender-responsive implementation.
  • 100% Successful completion of project within the set constraints of schedule & budget

KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences/IT or a relevant field.
  • Relevant professional qualification and membership
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience.
  • PMP Certification is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience working with persons with disabilities or vulnerable youth groups.  
  • Strong understanding of gender-responsive programming.
  • Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder engagements at county level will be an added advantage.
