Job Description

SHOFCO is seeking a passionate and community-driven Scholarship Coordinator to support the implementation of its scholarship program for vulnerable girls. The successful candidate will work closely with schools, families, community leaders, and government stakeholders to identify eligible beneficiaries, support school re-enrollment, and ensure scholars receive the academic, social, and psychosocial support needed to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate scholar identification, recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, families, community structures, and partner organizations.
  • Monitor scholar welfare and provide mentorship support where needed.
  • Identify and escalate cases of school dropout risk, safeguarding concerns, or psychosocial challenges.
  • Conduct home and school visits to track scholar progress and wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate scholar records, databases, and required documentation.
  • Support mentorship activities, holiday programs, and other scholar engagement initiatives.
  • Collect, manage, and report program data to support monitoring and evaluation efforts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of scholarship processes and interventions.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Diploma in Education, Social Work, Community Development, Counseling, or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in educational programs or community-based youth initiatives.
  • Counseling certification is an added advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
