Volunteer Finance Officer

• EDU-Initiative Kenya is inviting applications from committed, responsible and detail-oriented individuals to serve as Volunteer Finance Officers.
• The successful candidate will support the organisations financial management processes, including record keeping, budget monitoring, financial reporting, accountability and compliance.
• This voluntary opportunity offers a chance to contribute professional skills to grassroots development, strengthen financial systems and gain practical non-profit management experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and supporting documentation.
• Support budget monitoring and financial control.
• Track budget variances and prepare periodic financial reports.
• Support financial accountability, internal controls and audit readiness.
• Process and reconcile financial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with organisational financial policies and procedures.
• Promote responsible resource management and cost efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Relevant academic qualifications, professional training (CPA, ACCA, KATC) or practical experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Administration or Commerce.
• Practical experience in financial record keeping and maintaining accurate financial ledgers.
• Knowledge of budget monitoring, variance tracking and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with accounting software or computerised financial systems.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
