Job Description

SOKO Community Trust (SCT) is the charitable arm of SOKO Kenya, working to strengthen skills, livelihoods, health, and resilience among women, young people, and families in Kenya’s Coastal region, especially Kilifi County and SOKO EPZ employees.
Programme Officer 
  • SCT is looking for a motivated Programme Officer to support planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of its community development and women’s empowerment programmes. The role provides day-to-day leadership across three key initiatives:
  • Stitching Academy – industrial sewing and employability training
  • SOKO Skills – workplace wellbeing and financial literacy
  • Kujuwa Initiative – menstrual health and adolescent empowerment

Key Responsibilities
  1.  Programme Planning & Coordination
  • Develop and track annual, quarterly, and monthly work plans
  • Coordinate smooth, timely, and budget-aligned implementation
  • Monitor activity budgets and ensure compliance with donor requirements
  • Identify risks and support mitigation actions
  • Ensure strong integration across all SCT programmes
2. Implementation & Training Delivery
  • Oversee field delivery of trainings and community activities
  • Facilitate sessions on life skills, empowerment, and menstrual health
  • Support livelihood and women’s group initiatives
  • Coordinate workshops, camps, factory visits, and outreach events
  • Manage logistics, schedules, and participant engagement
3. Community & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Represent SCT in the field with schools, leaders, county officials, and partners
  • Build and maintain strong community and stakeholder relationships
  • Support alignment with local development priorities
  • Promote community ownership of programmes
4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
  • Support use of M&E tools and systems
  • Ensure accurate data collection and documentation
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and donor reports
  • Document lessons learned, success stories, and challenges
  • Support evidence-based decision-making
5. Team Support
  • Supervise and mentor field staff and assistants
  • Build capacity in facilitation, reporting, and coordination
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism
  • Support continuous improvement of programme delivery

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Project Management, Community Development, or related field
  • 5–7 years’ experience in NGO or donor-funded programmes
  • Proven experience in community-based project management
  • Strong background in training facilitation and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in women’s empowerment, livelihoods, youth, or health programmes is an advantage
