Senior Support Staff – Mechanical Technician

Pwani Oil Products Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support reliable and efficient manufacturing operations through equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimize downtime.
• Install, commission, test, and calibrate machinery and mechanical systems.
• Maintain mechanical components, maintenance records, schedules, and spare parts.
• Monitor equipment performance and improve machine efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Support shutdowns, overhauls, and equipment installations.
• Mentor junior technicians and collaborate with engineering and production teams.
• Apply continuous improvement practices to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of pumps, including operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and selection.
• Knowledge of GMP standards and their application in manufacturing.
• Experience in FMCG manufacturing, preferably in soap and oil production.
